Dem is pursuing his doctorate degree in Business Administration. It will be completed by the end of 2007. He has completed two years of work in preparation for his dissertation.

As a businessman, Dem is professional. He has established a reliable, dependable, and unique referral system in his business by serving his clients honestly and efficiently, benefiting them financially as much as possible. His professional business reputation is impeccable. Dem is highly educated with a degree in Engineering, Mathematics, and a Master in Business Administration.

For the past 13 years, Dem has chaired the annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the Knights of Columbus. Under his direction, execution and actual work by himself, a cumulative total of at least 50,000 lonely and needy people have been fed for the last 13 years. This in itself has been an unsurpassable accomplishment.

In helping the mentally retarded or mentally handicapped children for Milpitas, Dem solicits monetary donations for them by standing in front of various grocery stores. He has been the chairman for this annual drive for 11 years with cumulative funds donated totaling about $20,000. These unfortunate children are a top priority.

Each year Dem serves as a chairman of the annual awards dinner for the Knights of Columbus No. 5796 Council. He organizes the annual selection committee for the Milpitas Citizen of the Year award, and coordinates the selection of the Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year with their respective departments. Dem’s expert planning and execution ensures a superb program for the awards presentation.

While serving on the Planning Commission the last eight years, Dem has spent countless hours in preparation and deliberating in all the meetings. Dem is the former chairman for this elite body.

Dem was also a member of the Milpitas Community Advisory Committee for three years. He participated and deliberated annually for granting grants to various nonprofit organizations in Milpitas and surrounding other communities. In this commission, he helped lay out the initial beautification program of the city before he was appointed to the Planning Commission.

As a member of the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce, Dem participated on the membership drive, crab feed program, co-op mixer with the Filipino American Chamber, and worked at the Milpitas Summer Festival Knights of Columbus #5796 beer booth. Dem is very generous when the Chamber asks for any support.

In addition to his activities above, Dem is a superb and inspirational leader of the following organizations: State Secretary of the Travelers Protective Association of America, President of the Third Order of St. Augustine of Santa Clara Chapter, Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Milpitas Council No. 5796, President of the San Manuel Pangasinan Association of Northern California, Board Member of the Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce of Santa Clara County, Commander of the Knights of Rizal of Silicon Valley Chapter, President-Elect of the Filipino-American Association of Milpitas, Lay Eucharistic Minister of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Founding Director and the First President of Fil-Am Real Estate Professional Association Inc. and many other community involvement.
