ICC Executive Director Chitra Vivek says ICC has received wide support since its inception in 2003. She notes that the new center was the culmination of a vision that began 15 years ago, with the Indo-American Community Service Center, the forerunner to ICC.
“Everyone who was involved gave something - time, money, skills, ideas, connections and that something is what made this beautiful facility and all of our programs and services possible. But we need the continued support of the community via donor dollars and center memberships – to be able to continue our good work”.
The India Community Center appointed Vivek as executive director last year. “The India Community Center is undergoing enormous growth. I’m really pleased to be involved with ICC at this stage of its development,” Vivek says. “The opportunity is interesting and challenging and I’m also very excited about working with and contributing to the local community.”
